Jamie Hogaboam was born in California in 1965, and grew up in the Elmwood neighbourhood of Winnipeg. He began painting at a young age, creatively depicting hockey and football players while getting paint all over his mother’s tables.
In 2001, he started his journey as a professional artist. Art has given Jamie’s life purpose and an opportunity to express his passion. “Art is meant to stir our emotions” is the mantra by which Jamie lives his life.
Jamie is an alumni artist of the Artbeat Studio artist-in-residency program. Jamie creates hyper-realistic portraits, landscapes, and nudes as a part of his recovery. His artworks have made their way across the world — to the United States, Europe, and Afghanistan.
Jamie Hogaboam’s original artworks are available at Upbeat Artworks, located in Portage Place Shopping Centre.
